What is Wellness?

Wellness defined—

  1. The degree to which we experience health and happiness.
  2. All cells functioning at 100%.

Health - - According to the World Health Organization, Health is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”  Wellness has become a buzzword in today’s society, especially around here.  Everyone is trying to sell you some sort of snake oil, pill, or wonder drug to give you “the missing piece to my health and happiness.”  The truth is, wellness is now an everyday term that is largely misunderstood and misused.  Most people think that if they feel good and nothing hurts, then they are well.  Nothing could be further from the truth!

Studies show that 75-95% of early deaths in the U.S. are preventable.  Poor lifestyle choices are directly accountable for 99.8% of sickness and disease in our country!  Yes, 99.8%!  Bad genes and bad luck having nothing to do with most illnesses!

After studying Wellness and Chiropractic as a lifestyle, here is what I know.  In order to help someone become healthy, you must first change how they think about their lifestyle choices and what health means.  New research has shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that a properly functioning spine is ABSOLUTELY needed for your nervous system to do what it is designed and programmed to do.  In today’s society, chiropractic care has become a must for various reasons.  Sedentary living, toxic lifestyle choices, and birth trauma all cause your spine and nervous system to function less than optimally.  And we are the ONLY profession trained to improve how your nervous system works through specific adjusting techniques.

Wellness Chiropractors are the most qualified of any professional when it comes to wellness…our post doctorate education is designed especially for it!  How so, you ask?  Well, it is because we look at your body through a different paradigm.  (What’s a paradigm?  A paradigm is the lens through which you view the world; a philosophical view which guides each and every decision we make).  Okay, so back to how we are different.

Here is the difference between medicine and true Wellness Chiropractic: Allopathic vs Chiropractic Paradigm
